Tekken has tekken a role in my life again
Just figured out you have to STRING things together to COMBO
You're supposed to string combos together. Crazy right? Asuka has a 1,1,4 thing that launches, and then you can do another, or 1,2,4 or something. X is 1, Y is 2, A is 3, B is 4 on an Xbox controller. You just put it together. I got a ten hit combo last night just messing around in practice.
The story sucks, probably. I'm only a little into it. Jin has a private military company and has plunged the world into war. The framing narrative is a journalist whose city and home are destroyed in the fighting. It opens with him, reading a note Kazuya (Jin's mean dad) wrote to Heihachi, (mean grampa). And they're all possessed by the devil.
I only really play as the school girls, like Asuka and Xiayou, so that doesn't concern me. There's a Kpop star, a panda, clones, pro boxer born to a clone who is the same age as her because she was frozen in stasis for decades, MMA guy, zombie NYPD cop, y'know. Crazy zany characters.
Another thing I figured out is that you're supposed to wait for somebody to mess up and then punish them. I just figured this out after like decades of playing these games. Action, reaction a la Les Choristes. Somebody whiffs and you GET im. You block somebody who's starting a combo string and you GET im.
Obviously, as I'm emotionally maladjusted I get really emotional about ranked multiplayer. I had to quit Rocket League because I couldn't get out of Plat 2*. It ruined my days, especially in lockdown. But immersive single-player often puts me to sleep. I tried to play through New Vegas again and it took two days before I turned on god-mode and sought to murder and cannibalize every story-important character in the game. Back in lockdown I tried to play Red Dead 2 and I kept turning it off before I got to the first save, having to walk slowly through that awfully slow opening snow shit over and over again. I made a horse girl and rode around in online for a little and got bored. I like Hitman though, played a lot of 2, finally got 3 in the Steam Sale. But that's different. It's a bit of an immersive sim.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to wrecking my life doing digital high kicks.
